My name is Ben Connolly, I am 38 years- married to my high school crush & have three young girls where we live on the Mornington Peninsula. I love, love, love my surfing & training; they are my balancing tools for unplugging & filling up outside of work...

For the past 11 years, I've been a full-time firefighter, always juggling side projects between shifts. Two years ago, I started IceTubs Australia, an e-commerce brand born from my own journey with cold exposure that began five years ago. Simply put; IceTubs offers portable, oblong shaped steel ice baths designed for the outdoors, perfect for those embracing the routine & ritual of ice bathing at home.

After experiencing some success with IceTubs, I noticed a consistent journey among cold exposure enthusiasts. Typically, it starts with cold showers or ocean dips, progresses to purchasing a tub, water, & ice setup, & eventually leads to the desire for a plug & play cold plunge system that reduces all the hassles. These plunges are temperature controlled, filtered & sanitised allowing for year-round plunging without the expense of adding ice or the annoyance of emptying/ refilling for each subsequent plunge. 

Despite there being other players in the Australian market, I saw a gap for a cold plunge like this that was stunning, robust & affordable. I found existing options were either overly costly ($6k & beyond) or those that were reasonably priced were subpar inflatable, mass produced plastic products from China that lacked the visual appeal & durability required.

Enter 2022… after months of looking at different product options but not finding anything I loved, I started seeing many in the US using these large esky type coolers which several brands were building plug & play style cold plunges with… as soon as I saw them, I knew they were it. A unique shape & design, lockable lid with two inches of insulation & available in several colour schemes that could be showcased at home or within a home gym without the need to inflate/ deflate, fill/ drain & or hide away after use…

My goal with Koda Plunge is to be the final destination for individuals in their cold journey by providing a unique & lux product that is aesthetically pleasing, rigid & durable, insulated & efficient, with filtration & sanitisation built in all at a reasonable price that simplifies the cold plunging experience for you at home, one that is... AlwaysCold… AlwaysClean

As was my hope with IceTubs Australia when I started…. I hope in building out Koda Plunge that your routine & journey in cold & doing hard things teaches you many things about yourself as it has for me, I hope that it bridges the gap in your health goals whatever they may be & that by inducing more positive struggle into your life- I hope you are better equipped to handle the battles that will inevitably come your way.
